If you do not have a meter fitted you will
be charged for water on an unmeasured basis. Unmeasured charges do not
vary with the amount of water you consume but are based upon the premises
in which you live.
Bills are issued in advance on a quarterly
basis (March, June, September and December) and comprise an unmeasured
water charge, a standing charge and, where applicable, a hosepipe charge.
Unmeasured water charge
The unmeasured water charge is calculated by multiplying the rateable
value of the premises by the rate in the £ specified in the Schedule
of Tariffs and Charges (click
here).
The rateable value of the premises is that
declared in the 1990 Parochial Rating Assessments, as prepared by the
local Parish rating officers. Where the property was not in existence
in 1990 then an assessed value will have been applied by the Company consistent
with other properties in the Parish.
As the rateable values we use were set
by Parish rating authorities in 1990 they can not now be amended. Assessed
rental values applied by the Company in the absence of a 1990 rating assessment
can not be amended once applied.
Standing charge
The standing charge, which is billed quarterly in advance, is set annually
in March and is detailed in the Schedule of Tariffs and Charges (click
here).
The standing charge is the amount paid
for being connected to the water network (whether water is consumed or
not).
Hosepipe charge (where applicable)
Customers who pay for water on an unmeasured basis and use a hosepipe
are required to pay a hosepipe charge which is set annually and is detailed
in the Schedule of Tariffs and Charges (click
here).
The payment of the charge entitles the
customer to use a hand held hosepipe attached to the mains network.
If your premises have a swimming pool,
Jacuzzi, hot tub, lawn sprinkler, automated garden watering system or
you use a hose on an unattended basis all of the services supplying your
premises must have a meter fitted. To find out about metering click
here.
To inform the Company that you have a hosepipe
please contact the Customer Accounts Department (click

Direct Debit customers
If you pay your bills by Direct Debit you will also receive a credit of
£1 against the total value of your bill each quarter. This reflects
the fact that direct debits are more cost effective for us to process.
If you would like to pay your bills by Direct Debit (click

Other charges
There are other charges that may appear on your bill from time to time.
These will be as detailed on the Schedule of Tariffs and Charges (click
here) and explained in the Terms and Conditions of
Supply (click
here).
